Vireo (Vireo gracilirostris) is found only on Fernando de Noronha and
is more sharply differentiated from its mainland relatives than any other
bird of the archipelago. Although a vireo, it has evolved to resemble a
warbler in both morphology and behavior. Like many endemic birds of oceanic
islands, it is curious, tame and allows close approach by humans.
